Something people don't know about me:
In a singles tournament in 2004, I caught a 5.5 pounder. About ½ hour before weigh-in, I got my boat stuck on a flat. My brother (who was fishing against me) came by about 5 minutes later. I wanted to give him my fish to go weigh it, but he couldn't get to me. He suggested I try getting out and pushing. I could have just waited a while for the tide to move up, but I had to weigh that fish. I jumped out and pushed the boat about 100 yards (in mud up to my butt) to deeper water so I could weigh-in what turned out to be the big fish of the tournament… I was the only female in that singles tournament- covered in mud from head to toe and mud all over the deck of the boat, but I made it back for the weigh in and won some money! My brother is awesome. He could have fished another 15 mins., but he stayed there and made sure I got the boat out.
Something else people don't know is that I was married in June 2005. I married a man that I used to fish against in tournaments. We fished in the same club since about 1999. For years, we only spoke to each other in passing. Finally, I emailed him in June 2004. We ended up going fishing together. We got the boat stuck on in a cove and had to sit there for about 3 hours and wait for the tide to finish going out, then come back in enough to pry ourselves out. There's one way to get to know each other! It was about 95 degrees out there and there was no shade. We decided we would go out for a steak after we got out of there. After that day, we were inseparable.
Pictured on left is a "Bass" ice sculpture designed for the wedding reception.

Something people don't know about me: I use to have my own home-based business. I have a gift, you can say, for Camo painting...anything from trucks to boats to 4 wheelers. It is now more a Hobby, as fishing is first in line. Guys would see something I painted, pull in or call and ask my husband how much he charged, he would laugh and say, “I don't know, you will have to talk to my wife.” Everything that I came in contact with received a camo paint job including some things such as my husbands ice chest. He started hiding his belongings to avoid my ambitious painting goals! I am a country girl and I live deep in the woods. Last year I killed my first deer. On my next trip out, I killed 2 deer with one shot. So, in addition to fishing, I would have to say I am officially hooked on deer hunting too.

Favorite vacation spot: Somewhere on the water
Something people don't know about me: I am part of the prison ministries here in Rome, GA. The women are precious and in need of real love and kindness. Their lives are filled with such negative influences that it brings tears to my eyes to hear their stories. I feel like the lord has brought me here to share my enthusiasm and joy with them. I realized that we all could be where they are and how precious freedom really is. These women have children, husbands and parents that have turned their backs on them and I believe that I am there to let them know that they don't have to feel all alone in this world.

Something people don't know about me: Before I owned my first bass boat, which was a jet drive Tracker in 1997, I was a pretty darn good Barrel Racer and roper competing in rodeos. I was already a seasoned “road warrior”, so switching over from a horse trailer to pulling a boat down the road was pretty easy for me, just the height difference. I just haven't figured out if the feeding and maintenance on a horse is cheaper than filling up my boats 50 gallon gas tanks.
